Alice Leung: Founder, CEO
Ms. Alice Leung is a recent graduate of the Master of Business Administration program at Babson College. Prior to graduate school, Alice was a community organizer in Boston working with low-income communities. Alice is now focused on starting green projects and businesses that will stimulate economic development and provide good quality jobs for urban communities. During the past two years, she has been involved with a startup called Greenline Energy, a company that uses biomass gasification technology to turn waste into energy, and a community initiative called Community Green Jobs Network, a coalition of community groups that are working to start an energy service company that retrofits energy inefficient buildings and other green ventures. Alice is the Founder of Top Sprouts and currently serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Director of Sales and Marketing.
Akshay Kolte: Director, Business Development and Finance
Mr. Akshay Kolte holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Babson College. Akshay completed his undergraduate education in Mechanical Engineering and was a founder member of the collegiate branch of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Prior to graduate school, Akshay worked in the field of financial data analysis for American Express Technologies. During the past year, Akshay has been involved with tutoring MBA students at Babson College in economics and finance-related subjects. Akshay's tutoring site is www.tutorwithakshay.com. Del Mandawe: Construction Project Manager
Mr. Del Mandawe is a graduate of the Civil Structural Engineering Program at Northeastern University. Del has spent the last 10 years with Turner Construction Company in the engineering and operations sectors. Some notable projects are the Boston World Trade Center West Office Building, Genzyme Pharmaceuticals World Headquarters and the Harvard University Laboratory for Interface Science and Engineering (LISE). As an undergrad, Del worked for the Needham Department of Public Works Engineering Division. During the past year, Del has been working with Cradles to Crayons, a nonprofit organization that provides basic essentials to homeless and in-need children. Del is currently the construction project manager at Top Sprouts.
Amy Wagenfeld: Wellness and Therapeutic Program Director
Ms. Amy Wagenfeld, Top Sprouts' Wellness and Therapeutic Program Director is an occupational therapist, certified aging in place specialist, and horticultural therapist. She brings a unique perspective to her work by blending clinical occupational therapy, horticulture, and design to make gardens and gardening possible for a wide range of adults and children. Amy holds a PhD in education, a master's degree in human development, and a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy and is certified in Healthcare Garden Design from the Chicago Botanic Garden. Amy serves on the Board of Directors of the American Horticultural Therapy Association, on the editorial board of the Association's Journal of Therapeutic Horticulture, and is a member of its research work team. Amy consults with the Coastal Maine Botanic Garden, is a design consultant and therapeutic program developer for Studio Sprout in Jupiter, Florida and implements and facilitates a horticultural therapy program at Franciscan Hospital for Children in Boston. In her frequent presentations to health care professionals, educators, and recreational gardeners she shows how to make gardening both physically doable and gratifying for all.
